Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura has set his sights on winning a trophy with the north London club after settling into the surroundings after his January move. The Brazil international struggled to make much of an impression after joining Spurs midway through the previous campaign but he has already made up for that with an excellent start to the 2018/19 season.
He said: “I feel so comfortable here now. I am so happy with my new life, with my new – my house, my club, my team-mates – so I want to stay here for a long time. My objective is to win a trophy and make history here and I believe we can do that because we have a very good team, very good structure and very good fans so just need to believe and work because we can [make history].”
Spurs have certainly transformed into top-four regulars under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino but they have not managed to make the next step by going on to secure some silverware. The north London side have come close to reaching the FA Cup final in each of the previous two campaigns but unfortunately they have not been able to break the mental block to reach the last hurdle.
Pochettino was left disappointed during the recent transfer window after the club fail to make a single signing but Moura has certainly felt like one after making a quick start off the blocks. The Brazilian was recently handed the man of the match versus Manchester United after he scored a stunning brace during the second half of a comfortable 3-0 win.
