Ricardo Rodriguez’s agent refutes Tottenham Hotspur speculation

Ricardo Rodriguez’s representative Gianluca Di Domenico has stressed that there has been no contact whatsoever with Tottenham Hotspur for his client. The Switzerland international has been recently been linked with an AC Milan exit amid their financial troubles but his agent has refuted the ongoing link with Spurs.

Speaking to Gianlucadimarzio.com, he said: “It is absolutely not true that he’s leaving and we have not had any contact with Tottenham. If Tottenham were to call me over the next two weeks, that’d be different, but as of today there has been no contact. I don’t know why these things are written.I can confirm there has been interest from some English clubs, which is only normal after a good World Cup campaign, but there is nothing concrete and no negotiations.”

Rodriguez had a good performance for Switzerland at the World Cup where they reach the round of 16 stage and as a result, there has been plenty of interest from comes across the Premier League. Nevertheless, his agent has clarified that Rodriguez is likely to stay put with the Rossoneri unless a club capable of winning the Champions League makes an approach.

Meanwhile, Milan are currently in a difficult situation after being found guilty of breaking the Financial Fair Play requirements and this sees them banned for the next two seasons in Europe. The San Siro outfit are expected to appeal the embargo at the Court of Arbitration of Sport but the chances are very less that the suspension will be overruled.

Despite this, the club have made the best of what they have by securing permanent deals for Nikola Kalinic and Fabio Borini, who were on loan during the previous campaign whilst the likes of Ivan Strinic, Pepe Reina, and Alen Halilovic have joined on free transfers.
