Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who was a part of the Manchester United squad a few years back, has tipped his compatriot Louis Van Gaal to be successful at Old Trafford.
The former forward reckons that the current Oranje boss has the similar sort of personality and working style as Sir Alex Ferguson.
Nistelrooy played under both Van Gaal and Ferguson during his career and thus, he knows both of them pretty well.
Talking to the reporters yesterday about Van Gaal being given the charge as the new Red Devils manager, Nistelrooy said, “I would back him to do a good job there. He is pretty much like Fergie. He likes to do most of the work himself rather than depending on his assistants. He is exactly the sort of character that United is in need of at the moment.”
“Louis is also a true professional. Wherever he has worked, he has worked with full dedication. He is not going to take even a short break after Brazil. He would be at United straightaway.”
The exact date of Van Gaal’s arrival in Manchester isn’t clear yet and that’s because his team Netherlands is still in the hunt in the World Cup. They are in the Round of 4 where they would meet the South American powerhouse Argentina tomorrow.
In the ongoing World Cup, Van Gaal has shown how good he is with his tactics. His courageous decisions of substituting his star player Robin Van Persie during the close pre quarter final game against Mexico and using his second choice goalkeeper in the penalty shootouts in the quarter final game against Costa Rica have been praised a lot by the pundits.
He is known to have fantastic man management skills as well. So, the Manchester United fans would surely have big hopes with him.
