For the past few years, Tottenham Hotspur has been able to snatch the top 5 spots of the Premier League which is a very impressive feat for a club to accomplish but even though they have consistently been able to get into the top of the English Premier League, Tottenham has struggled trying to win a major piece of silverware.
The last time that Tottenham Hotspur won a significant trophy was back during the season of 2007-08 when they lifted the League Cup after defeating Chelsea 2-1 in the finals which was played on February 24.
From there on out, Tottenham has not managed to add any major trophy to their collection but Ledley King is hoping and optimistic that his former team is able to win the current edition of the FA Cup.
Tottenham Hotspur has qualified for the semi-finals of the 2016-17 and are scheduled to face off with Chelsea on April 22 and Ledley King feels that Mauricio Pochettino can push his squad to success.
“I feel like Mauricio Pochettino is on the verge of winning another trophy. We’re in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and we have a tough game against Chelsea but it’s the game that we can win; we beat Chelsea already this season. So yeah, I really do feel the players and the manager are on the verge of something special. So hopefully it would be nice to get a trophy, starting this season.” Former Tottenham Hotspur player Ledley King said.
Ledley King spent his entire football career performing with Tottenham but despite having invested so much of his time in the English outfit; it wasn’t a very successful career as he was only able to win the League Cup in 2008 but King is hoping that with the recent addition of Mauricio Pochettino, it can change things in the near future.
