Spurs former captain Ledley King has heaped praises on the club’s current defender Kyle Walker.
Walker is a key player in the Spurs set-up despite being injury prone. Walker is the first choice right back for club and country, and he has moved past the several injuries he suffered between 2013 and 2015. He had limited appearances in the Premier League during his time off but he has quickly re-established himself at White Hart Lane.
In the 2016/17 season, Walker is arguably the best right back in England. His sterling performances have contributed to the Spurs’ feat this term. The Mauricio Pochettino side is yet to lose league game this season. The former Sheffield United player has struggled with injuries a bit this term as well, but his performance, when fit, earned him King’s commendation.
“It takes a while to get back to your levels and it’s testing time whenever you are out for a long period, there are tough moments and it takes time to get things right again. It does allow you to reflect on your game, what you want to do and where you want to be when you get back playing. Kyle has come back stronger than ever,” King told the club’s website.
Tottenham have a long way to go if they want to end up as Premier League champions. They currently place 5th but are four points behind log leaders Chelsea. Whilst the team has been consistent in managing expectations, there is an obstacle holding them from moving beyond the current level. A string of draws in October ensured they remained behind even as power changed hands three times.
Spurs are set to play Chelsea, Swansea City and Manchester United in forthcoming league games, even as they are get set to exit the Champions League following a string of losses.
